JM and I were thoroughly deee-lighted by the site visits and wonderful comments in the wake of secret menu’s paella recipe somehow, against all odds, ending up on Freshly Pressed earlier this week. To thank all of you for stopping by, leaving your two cents, and galvanizing secret menu headquarters with the added pressure of new blog subscriptions, we have toiled away for the past 24 hours in order to bring you our very first video recipe.

Shot, directed, and edited by the one and only JM, scored by the indomitable Jasper Speicher of forlove, and starring eight jumbo shrimp (with a cameo by me), this video is either a step-by-step demo of last night’s meal preparation or an exquisite audiovisual illustration of what not to do when you have a knife, a hand blender, and at least three writing deadlines looming. You be the judge.

  3. Your grilled shrimp and eggplant photo looks lovely. I was unable to watch the video as there was a statement that said “you do not have permission to access/video on this server”. No matter, your blog is lovely. I too was fortunate enough to be featured on Freshly Pressed. It’s an honor that I know you still enjoy as I do.
